Stitch Haven is operated by May May's Crochets. This policy explains what information Stitch Haven handles, why we use it, and the choices available to you.
We store your email address, securely hashed password, limited signup and sign-in information, and the content and preferences you save in Stitch Haven. This includes patterns, steps, designers, collections, projects, notes, counters, timers, photos, and related activity. We also keep a limited history of sign-in and subscription changes for security, support, and billing troubleshooting.
Your content is private by default unless you make a collection public or share a project photo in the public gallery. Public collections include the content and notes within them.
Smart Import is optional, and you can always enter steps manually. When you use it, the pattern text you paste is converted into editable steps. The original text is not saved in Stitch Haven's database or logs, and no account identifier is included in the request. Steps are saved to your account only if you choose to save them, and they remain private.
Anthropic processes Smart Import pattern text and parsed output through its commercial API. This data is not used to train Anthropic's AI models and may be temporarily retained under its commercial data-retention policy.
Stripe processes premium subscription payments. Stitch Haven does not receive or store your full card number, but we store identifiers and subscription details needed to provide premium access. Project photos are stored with Cloudinary. If you save an image hosted on another website, your browser contacts that website to display it and sends ordinary technical information needed to deliver the image.
Stitch Haven and its service providers receive ordinary technical information, such as IP addresses, browser information, and request details. We use limited server logs, error and performance reports, and aggregate feature counts to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the service.
Stitch Haven uses first-party cookies needed to keep you signed in and maintain your session. Remembered logins expire after one year of inactivity and are cleared when you sign out. Pattern Companion may save your current place in your browser so you can resume on that device.
We use information to provide and maintain Stitch Haven, save your content, manage subscriptions, send requested password-reset emails, protect accounts, investigate problems, respond to support requests, and improve the service.
Where data-protection law requires a legal basis, we process information as needed to provide the service you request, for our legitimate interests in securing, supporting, and improving Stitch Haven, and when necessary to comply with law or handle legal claims.
We do not sell your personal information. Stitch Haven does not contain advertising, send marketing email, or use behavioral analytics or nonessential tracking cookies.
We share information when you choose to make content public, when required by law or necessary to protect rights and safety, and with service providers as needed to run Stitch Haven. These providers include Heroku for hosting and backups, Stripe for payments, Cloudinary for photos, Anthropic for Smart Import, Mailgun for password-reset email, Sentry for error and performance monitoring, and Google Fonts and jsDelivr for application resources.
Providers may process information in the United States and other countries, subject to applicable legal safeguards.
We generally keep your account information and saved content while your account is open. Operational logs, error reports, and backups are kept for limited periods.
You can delete your account through account settings. This removes your account and associated data from active systems and cancels an active subscription if necessary. Deleted information may remain temporarily in routine backups until they expire. Service providers may retain limited records under their own policies or when required by law.
You can access, edit, delete, and control the sharing of your content through your account. You can also contact us to request a copy of your account data.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information, restrict or object to its use, receive a portable copy, or complain to a data-protection authority.
Stitch Haven is not intended for children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their personal information.
We may update this policy by posting changes here and updating the date above.
