Frequently asked questions

What is Stitch Haven?

Stitch Haven is a personal workspace for crochet and knitting. Save links to patterns from anywhere (not just one database), track projects with built-in row and stitch counters and step-by-step instructions, and organize everything in Pinterest-style collections (see an example!). Simple forms, focused features โ€” just a clean tool built for how crafters actually work.

Who built this?

Hi! I'm May from May May's Crochets, a crocheter and software engineer. I got tired of patterns scattered across bookmarks, Pinterest, and project tracking docs that never connected. I built Stitch Haven to solve my own organizational chaos. As someone who crafts myself and knows how to build reliable tools, I'm excited to keep improving it based on real user feedback. How do I track my progress?

Each project has built-in row and stitch counters that auto-save as you go. You can also bring your pattern steps into Stitch Haven so the step you're working on sits right next to your counters. No more switching between your pattern and a separate counter app.

Where can I use it?

Anywhere! Stitch Haven is web-based, so there's nothing to download or install, just open it in any browser on your computer, phone, or tablet and you're good to go. Your patterns, projects, and progress are always saved, so you can start on your laptop and pick up on your phone without missing a stitch.

Is this a social network?

Not yet โ€” we're focused on personal organization first. Everything is private by default, though you can share individual collections publicly if you want. We might explore social features in the future, but for now, this is your personal craft hub.

How much does it cost?

You can save patterns, organize collections, track up to 25 projects, and import up to 5 patterns as step-by-step instructions โ€” all completely free. For unlimited everything and to help keep Stitch Haven ad-free, Premium is available for $3/month. Stitch Haven is ad-free by design and I'd really like to keep it that way.
